New audio demo “Devils and Bibles”
This is a new demo track that I wrote/recorded on Saturday, April 9th. We are currently working on a band version of this which should start showing up in the live shows immediately. Stay tuned for more versions of this interesting track.

Lyrics:
You’re a fable that hangs on the promise of an old diamond ring
Cut down by the outlaws of sirens, the lovers and me
Brought up with the drunkards, the dandies, the rustlers and thieves
The children of strongmen, a princess, the son of a priest
Their wisdom eludes me most days, Lord it helps me to sleep
Just Devils And Bibles inheritin’ the world for the meek
But Life is a livin’ hell,
Carved out in God’s Sacred Spell,
We’re lost in our game.
All of your horses were gone down to New Baltimore
Held close by a season of high tides, switchblades and more
Just call me when you want something better than just who you are
The ghost of a cowhand deals Walt Whitman some cards
Devils and Bibles and Angels all rusted and tamed
Western high-rollers, a Dixieland Southbound train
The rust now is overdue,
The wolves now encircle you,
Lost in their game.
“I will love you” haunts these old canyon walls
Gone are your chances to earn all your words from afar
There is a legend that our lives are lost sailor’s dreams
Caught up in the roses, the echoes of nightmares of kings
Liquored up lovers, misfits walk roadsides in chains
Just Devils and Bibles livin’ their lifetimes again
The rust now is over you,
The wolves now are overdue,
Lost in their game.
Don’t sell me a lie or tell me you’re searchin’ for truth
It cuts through my bones and deep down it steals through my roots
Devils and Bibles and Angels all rusted and tamed
Western high-rollers and Dixieland Southbounded trains
Liquored up lovers, misfits walk roadsides for bars
Dealin’ new hands to the strongmen from a fresh deck of cards
Life is a livin’ hell,
Carved out from God’s Sacred Spell,
We’re lost in His Game.
Just Devils and Bibles and Angels all rusted and tamed
Western high-rollers and Dixieland Southbounded trains
“Flowers in the Rain” is a new Todd Edwards & the Depressionaires song that is now available here on the official Todd Edwards Tumblr Blog. Look for a full-band/iTunes version of this track in the not so distant future. Tonight’s solo version features a solo Todd on guitar/harmonica and was recorded today (3-30-2011) at the Depressionaire Studio (currently located in the Jozart Center for the Arts). More on the way.

Flowers in the Rain Capo on the 1st fret D7 G I saw the dust glide through the town D7 G Always the finest when it sticks in your teeth.
